Committee meeting minutes 2-29-24

Shared Services Committee                     

February 29, 2024                                .

Chairman Kudick, Supervisor Belanger, and Supervisor Rogers, members of the Shared Services Committee for the Town of Stephenson, met with the Shared Committee of the Village of Crivitz in the Crivitz Village Board Room. Also present were Clerk Olson and 3 others. Sheriff Randy Miller was invited to attend but was not present. Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm.

There was a lengthy discussion on how to proceed. There are a couple things that will need to be checked on before we can move forward with anything. It was questioned as to whether the Marinette County Sheriff would have to deputize the Village officers in order for them to work for us. Liability was another question that was talked about. Who will be liable if the Officers respond outside of the Village limits. These things will be checked into and brought back to the Committee on the 19^th of March at 6:00 pm.

If the Officers work for the Town of Stephenson Water Safety Patrol Unit, they will be considered employees of the Town of Stephenson for that purpose.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 pm.
