TOWN OF STEPHENSON MARINETTE COUNTY TOWN HALL
BUDGET HEARING
November 4, 2024
Chairman Kudick called the budget hearing to order at 7:00 pm. Present were Chairman Kudick, Supervisors, Belanger, Franzmeier, Rogers, and Stradal, Treasurer Uhazie, Clerk Olson, and 3 electors.
Proposed budget sheets and the proposed budget summary sheets were available for everyone’s viewing. Chairman Kudick asked if there were any questions.
It was noted that the “%” column on the Summary sheet is incorrect. Supervisor Rogers will correct that. The large difference in Public Safety was questioned. Clerk Olson stated it was the difference from having to pay the large amount for the animals housed at the kennel. A comment was made that it appears that the Board is being fincally responsible and addressing the needs of the community.
No further concerns so Chairman Kudick closed the hearing at 7:40 pm.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS
November 4, 2024
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm by Chairman Kudick. Present were Chairman Kudick, Supervisors Belanger, Franzmeier, Rogers, and Stradal, Treasurer Uhazie, Clerk Olson, and 3 other electors.
A motion was made by Nick Vento to adopt the 2024 Town tax levy, of 933,248.00 to be paid in 2025 pursuant to Section 60.10(1)(a) of the Wisconsin State Statutes. Pete McCabe offered a second. A vote showed 10 persons in favor and 0 opposed. Motion carried. 7:41 pm.
The next item was to approve the 2025 Highway expenditures pursuant to Section 82.03(2) of the Wisconsin Statutes. Pete McCabe moved to approve and Nick Vento seconded the move. A count showed 10 in favor and 0 opposed. Motion carried. 7:42 pm.
The authorizing of the hiring of Town Officers as employees and setting an hourly wage, pursuant to Section 60.32 of the Wisconsin Statutes were both completed with a motion by Nick Vento and second by Pete McCabe. The vote showed 10 in favor and 0 opposed. Time is 7:42 pm.
Nick Vento made a motion to adjourn at 7:43 pm. Gail Freitag seconded, and the motion carried.

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
November 4, 2024
Chairman Kudick called the meeting to order at 7:43 pm with the above-mentioned persons still in attendance.
Clerk Olson stated that the final figures have not been received from the State and numbers may change, so these figures are contingent to the final ones coming from the State. Supervisor Stradal moved to adopt the proposed 2025 budget with a levy of $933,248 and mill rate of .93% contingent to final figures being received. A second was offered by Supervisor Belanger. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion to adjourn by Supervisor Stradal, second by Supervisor Franzmeier and carried at 7:45 pm.
