TOWN OF STEPHENSON MARINETTE COUNTY TOWN HALL

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

January 8, 2025

Chairman Kudick called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. He informed everyone that Supervisor Rogers had resigned from the Board. He further stated that Supervisor Franzmeier had passed away and will be missed as a member of the Town Board and as a friend. He then led everyone in the pledge of allegiance. Roll call showed Supervisors Belanger, and Stradal, Treasurer Uhazie, and Clerk Olson, and Attorney Coggins in attendance along with 12 others.

Supervisor Stradal moved to adopt the agenda. Second by Supervisor Belanger. Carried.

Minutes of the December 11, 2024 Board meeting, were approved with a motion by Supervisor Belanger, second by Supervisor Stradal, and carried.

Treasurer Uhazie’s financial report showed the following balances as of December 31, 2024

LGIF #3 - Depreciation Account $ 914,094.60

A motion was made by Supervisor Belanger to accept the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Supervisor Stradal, and carried.

Vouchers #52119 through #52156, payroll charges, and EFT payments were approved as presented with a motion by Supervisor
Stradal, second by Supervisor Belanger, and carried.

Under Correspondence, the Clerk received a request by the Assessor for Board of Review on June 9, 2025.

Department reports were given for Fire by Chief Jim Stradal, Canine by Mike Stueck, Recycling by Supervisor Belanger, and the Building Inspector report by Chairman Kudick. There was no Public Works report or Code Enforcer report.

Jeff Lieuwen of Rob Kamps Surveying, presented CSM 2025-1 for NMG Properties, LLC for 2 lots, located in part of the SE ¼ of the SW ¼, of Sec 9, T33N-R19E, in the Town of Stephenson, Marinette County, Wisconsin, with ingress and egress to Molly Four Road. Motion to approve by Supervisor Stradal, second by Supervisor Belanger, and carried.

Gary Peterson did not attend this meeting so item was passed over.

Supervisor Stradal moved to approve the request from River Road Riders to use both sides of South Avenue for the 2025-2026 snowmobile season. Supervisor Belanger offered a second. Chairman Kudick stated to let them know the Town will get back to them on the width of the right-of-way. Motion carried.

The law enforcement agreement with the Village of Crivitz was approved contingent to them accepting the added verbiage in #1 of the agreement. Supervisor Belanger made the motion, Supervisor Stradal seconded and a vote showed all in favor. Motion carried.

Chairman Kudick stated he had received a resignation from Supervisor Andrew Rogers in December. He then made a motion to appoint Peter E. McCabe to the Supervisor 4 position to fill out Supervisor Rogers term. A second was given by Supervisor Belanger. Motion carried.

An event permit for Twin Bridge Ski Club Inc for events on February 8, 2025, and July 3 & 5, 2025 at the Town Park and Ski site. Supervisor Stradal made a motion to approve contingent to receiving the check. Second by Supervisor Belanger and carried.

Temporary Class B license was issued to the Twin Bridge Ski Team, Inc for the same dates as above mentioned, contingent to receiving the check, with a motion by Supervisor Stradal, second by Supervisor Belanger, and carried.

No Operator licenses were applied for.

Under public comments, Peter McCabe asked how long the Lae Enforcement Agreement was for.

Motion to adjourn by Supervisor Stradal, second by Supervisor Belanger, and carried at 7:15 pm.
