PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING

TOWN BOARD MEETING

HELD AT THE TOWN OF STEPHENSON HALL

LOCATED AT W11280 COUNTY ROAD X

Wednesday, February 4, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Supervisor McCabe. In attendance were committee members - Supervisors Stradal, Van De Walle, and Belanger, Chairman Kudick, Clerk Olson, and 32 others.

The meeting was called to get information on the MABAS / HIEBA system. There were fire personnel from Silver Cliff, Athelstane, Middle Inlet, Grover / Porterfield, Coleman, Pound, Peshtigo, Brazeau, and Stephenson.

Mike Folgert and Jay Heckel gave information on the system. They explained how things work and answered questions and concerns.

Several departments commented on how they were against the system until they started using it and have now changed their mind and believe it is a good system because you know what resources you have coming and you have access to a lot more equipment.

Questions were raised on how much it costs and if it is basically like using the mutual aid system that they have in place now for no cost.

There was more lengthy discussion with persons giving pros and cons they see with the system.

The meeting ended at 7:55 pm.
